Course Description

Class time 90 minutes.  

Enrollment open to home school students in grades 4 through 8.

Introductory Art Class starts first week of September

12 weeks; 2 classes/week        Mondays and Wednesdays  3:30-5:00pm

max. 6 students per class

* Student cost - $300 or $100 due at end of each month

Signed certificate of completion at end of class included.

This class will comprise of learning the foundations or origins of art through a Biblical worldview.  We will discuss the creation account in Genesis and how God's creativity is shown in the diversity of His creation. We will also look into the first representations of human attempts at creativity.  We will learn basic art terminology and their definitions.  There will be study of the color spectrum/rainbow, color wheel, and mixing of primary and secondary colors. Shapes and the difference between 2-D and 3-D shapes. Also shapes as they are found in nature, architecture, and science. Drawing basics and painting basics including techniques and history will be studied.  By the end of class, students should be able to have completed a still life or landscape painting.
